Using the ‘Opalessence’ whitening technique, you can whiten your teeth in the comfort of your own home. Custom made plastic trays are provided along with a whitening solution. The self application will be explained to you and you will be able to monitor how white your teeth are becoming, using a special colour chart.
In most cases the effects are noticeable after applications, once a day, over a seven day period.

Is teeth whitening safe?
Yes. If directions are followed, home application is a safe method of tooth whitening. If problems such as teeth sensitivity or gum irritations are experienced, the frequency of use should be reduced from every day to every second day. Some people experience mild to moderate teeth sensitivity however, it normally subsides quickly following completion of treatment.
What occurs during the whitening process?
The active ingredient in the whitening gel is broken down and oxygen enters the tooth enamel bleaching the discolouration. The structure of the tooth is not changed; only the tooth enamel becomes a lighter shade. Only tooth substance is affected, fillings, crowns, bridges and veneers are not changed.
How long will it take to whiten my teeth?
Results often become apparent during the first few treatments, but typically the full whitening effect becomes evident after about 7-10 applications.
Teeth will continue to whiten with each successive treatment until desired result is achieved.
