Dental Crowns
In some cases, where your tooth is severely damaged, decayed or presents with deep fractures, we may suggest a crown be placed on the tooth. This procedure may take one to three visits.
Preparation - If the root and a portion of your tooth is still present and strong, we will shape this to prepare for a crown.
If your tooth is severely decayed or weak then we may need to insert a post to create a strong foundation to support your new crown.Impressions are then taken and sent to a specialist dental laboratory; alternatively your treatment may be suitable for our One Visit Cerec Technology.
Once your crown has been custom made, it will be cemented over and onto the remaining tooth structure. At this point your bite will be carefully checked and adjusted thus ensuring that your new ‘tooth’ functions harmoniously with your existing smile.
Dental Veneers
Porcelain veneers are a popular choice if you have oddly shaped, discoloured, chipped or crooked teeth. These thin pieces of carefully shaped, custom made porcelain are cemented over the front of your teeth.
You can choose to have one tooth treated using this method or you may like to improve many. If you are having more than one tooth treated with veneers we may encourage you to whiten your teeth first to ensure a full bright white smile on completion.
Veneers are strong and create a long-lasting beautiful smile.
